The site is in a highly strategic location – just off the main motorway network, close to both Dublin Port and Dublin Airport – and with an electrical grid connection for up to 5 MW and close access to the national gas grid (Facilitating a switch to gas-to-grid in 2025).

We continue to innovate and are currently refurbishing the plant and upgrading technologies to create the first of its kind AD plant in Ireland. This plant will be capable of transforming 100,000 tons of Commercial and Industrial Organic Wastes into high quality Biomethane and Digestate Products. Producing over 120GWh of Biomethane per year the site will provide renewable fuel for over 200 HGV’s. The high quality digestate fertiliser will be used to enhance local farming practices in Ireland’s Agri-food sector.

Phase 2

Plans are already underway to further develop the site at Huntstown. This includes doubling the processing capacity of the site to increase Biomethane production. By 2030, this site will be producing around 5% of Ireland’s 5.7 TWh Biomethane target.

Expansion plans include the development of a Biomethane refueling station capable of replacing 18 million litres of diesel in road transport. There are also plans to include further waste treatment facilities as well as solar panels and a wind turbine to expand our  renewable electricity platform.
